Alrighty, internets, as I promised, here is the little ficlet I wrote that serves as a deleted scene for my GK/AI crossover.

Title: How's It Going To Be
Author: [livejournal.com profile] emerald_skies
Pairing(s): Tunny & Will (gen, maybe some Will/Tunny if you squint)
Rating: PG-13 (just to be safe)
Warnings: Potential triggering mentions/descriptions of domestic violence
Summary: Will has always considered Tunny the strongest person he's ever known, but even the strong need help sometimes. That's what best friends are for, right?
Author's Note: This is a little vignette, a "deleted scene" if you will, that fits in to the Everyone's Heart 'verse (I'll be making a separate "deleted scenes" post with this and a few other ficlets once I finish the story). I'm evidently in an angst-tacular mood these days -- try not to hold it against me?

They say that being a teenager is a time of a lot changes... )

I think I went kind of overboard with the angst factor (why do I keep torturing these boys?! /o\) but I think I did a decent job of adding some happy(ish) undertones to balance it out. I welcome and strongly encourage comments of all kinds, even if it's just something simple like "<3" or "I liked this!" -- all I ask is to please be gentle with concrit on account of my poor tiny, fragile creative ego.

That's all I have for now. See my previous post for various other odds and ends including a love meme, news about me getting MSN Messenger, and a pretty nice Stark picspam going on in the comments.

That being said, allow this gif to express how much I adore you all:

Howdy, internets, just dropping in for a minute to say that I'm not dead, just busy. Horribly, ridiculously, soul-crushingly busy (because next week is the week before finals and the professors like to pile shit high and deep right about now). It's made me tired enough that I've passed out asleep at 10:00 p.m. more than once in the last week (which, for someone who normally goes to bed around midnight, is a big deal), plus I really hate how much it's cutting into my fandom/internet time lately :\

Photobucket
Me these days....

Long story short, my life would be so much easier if I could just live in the internet forever.

On the bright side, I got to spend the afternoon watching Jason X (hilariously bad) and playing with Le Boyfriend's and my bb!kitty (hilariously adorable) over at Les Neighbors', so things aren't as bad as they could be. In the mean time, I promise I'll get a real post up some time before doomsday *facepalm*

ETA: My family sent me this video earlier and I only just opened and watched it just now...

So, internets, remember how I mentioned that Le Boyfriend and I have acquired a kitten (that my neighbors are currently petsitting)? And how I said I would post pictures? Welp, here they are!

'That's twice this month that you've slipped deadly nightshade into my tea and run off' 'Three times!'... )

So that's Le Boyfriend's and my new kitty, circa 10ish weeks old (if my neighbor's estimate of her age was correct). I know my RL posts on here can be kind of dull, but hopefully the adorable bb!kitty kind of makes up for it. In terms of fandom, work is slowly (but surely) continuing on my GK/AI crossover and [livejournal.com profile] mcl4r3n should be getting back from traveling soon so the vamp!fic will also (hopefully) be coming out of hiatus sometime this week. Stay tuned!

Dear LiveJournal,

If you could unfuck yourself soon, I would really appreciate it. Because this is basically me right now:

And my poor computer can only stand so much abuse.

Thanks (for nothing),

In other Glee-related news, FUCK YES. (Warning: slightly spoilerish)

Photobucket

I don't care that my geeky joy is making me look like a total loser, I AM EXCITE.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] jean_iris and I totally had the best casting/episode/song idea ever:

[livejournal.com profile] emerald_skies: for real, this stark as will's little brother thing needs to happen
[livejournal.com profile] jean_iris: totally
[livejournal.com profile] emerald_skies: and he needs to teach something so all the girls can sing Hot For Teacher
[livejournal.com profile] emerald_skies: XD
[livejournal.com profile] jean_iris: lol xD
[livejournal.com profile] emerald_skies: the powers that be could wait until he grows his hair back and then have him do a slow motion hair flip as he walks down the halls :P
[livejournal.com profile] emerald_skies: mostly because that makes the best mental image ever

THINK OF THE HAIR FLIP. I can't possibly be the only one who finds this concept hilarious.

Internets, y'know what's fun?

Medication side effects (more specifically, side effects that occur with higher doses of said medication). Especially when they wind up deep-sixing your Valentine's Day plans.

Blah blah long story blah )

Argh. The worst part of all this is that the increase has been doing a much better job of evening out my moods, so I'll probably just wind up toughing my way through the adjustment period instead of calling my shrink. Because I am a masochist that way.

Also, for the music wonks among us (especially anyone who's been in band/orchestra/etc.), who remembers this frightening little gem? )

Lastly, because I promised [livejournal.com profile] eiirene, have a Paweł picspam (which, with any luck, will spill over into the comments):

Photos of Poland's finest export over this-a-way! (WARNING: Very image heavy, not for the faint of internet connection) )

Anyone who wants to (not just [livejournal.com profile] eiirene) is encouraged to spam the shit out of this post with their own photos of this sexy beast.

Aaand that's all I've got for now.

P.S. - One of life's hilarious ironies: Listening to my Abnormal Psychology professor teach me about a disorder that I've had for the last 5-8 years. I've had to resist the urge to correct her twice now.

P.P.S. - It appears email notifications are broken again, so don't take it personally if it takes me a significant chunk of time to respond to y'all's comments.

THING THE FIRST: I finally got my camera! After I wrestled the box open, I promptly spent the next thirty minutes annoying the bejeezus out of Le Boyfriend with scenarios like...

Me: *holds up tiny plastic whatsit* The heck is this?
Le Boyfriend: That's the battery.
Me: *holds up another tiny plastic whatsit* And this?
Le Boyfriend: That's the battery charger.

And so on. There was also much marveling over how friggin' tiny it is (seriously, it's the same approximate dimensions as a box of Altoids). Y'all might laugh at me for my confusion over the many tiny plastic whatsits -- which, incidentally, have a frightening talent for disappearing -- and the battery but, for reference, the last digital camera I had regular access to a) belonged to my family, b) was roughly the size of your standard full-size matchbox (or a smaller film camera), and c) ran on AA batteries. In other words, I AM NEW TO THE TINY CAMERAS OF THE FUTURE, OKAY?

I'm also impressed with all the software functions. It auto-corrects red-eye (I used to have to do that on my computer), has a blink detector (which is causing me no end of amusement), and can distinguish/orient faces in a given frame (it puts little blinky white corners around them). The jury's still out on whether it can slice/dice/make julien fries, but I wouldn't put it past this thing. I fully intend to spend the rest of the afternoon playing with it -- which might involve further annoying the bejeezus out of Le Boyfriend.

THING THE SECOND: I finished my finals today! Spanish was easy (God bless online classes), Stress Management was easy (see previous), Sports Nutrition was so-so (I barely studied anyway because I'm pretty sure I could've skipped it and still made a low B in the class), and Physiology of Exercise was GOOD GOD SO STUPIDLY HARD. Well, the essay wasn't so hard, but there were parts of the multiple choice that had me going like this:

Photobucket

Except quietly in my seat. At least I wasn't the only one writhing in anguish.

THING THE THIRD: I finally got Le Batfic posted to AO3 for ease of re-reading (and posting to [livejournal.com profile] generation_kill. I was delighted to discover that it doesn't freak out at LJ formatting, but enraged at how MOTHERFUCKING SLOW it is, and then there was this whole thing where it posted an extra chapter and I couldn't figure out WHY. Much rending of garments (figuratively speaking) ensued until I finally figured out that it had somehow posted the last chapter twice.

THING THE FOURTH: I should probably get around to picking out possible dates/times for the Die Mommie Die re-watch in [livejournal.com profile] stark_sands. Um.

THING THE FIFTH: Happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] muthine! I bring you eyefucking as a birthday present
Photobucket

THING THE LAST: The New York trip is in four days. FOUR DAYS.

Photobucket

Plans for a meet-up are in progress (with a million thanks to [livejournal.com profile] pjvilar for helping with my hilariously awful planning skills). Incoherent flailing has already begun.

That's it for now! How are y'all?

Le Boyfriend decided it would be a good idea to make a sandwich using bacon that's old enough that I can't remember when we bought it (which means it's probably expired). It's not green or trying to chase us around Le Flat or anything like that, but this still probably isn't going to go well.

Fuck yeah, college! When you aren't trying to kill us with schoolwork, you're trying to kill us by stretching our finances until we're resorting to eating expired food (well, some of us anyway).

...

Photobucket

Why are college degrees such a big fucking deal again?

Meanwhile, the GK rewatch today was ridiculously awesome. Seriously, GKers, y'all are the best fandom ever. Especially for not telling me to shut the hell up with the gifs and keyboard-mashing-capslock-abusing fangirling. Don't ever change <3

Back to reaction posts and schoolwork. Sigh.

Howdy all, just checking in with a couple of things so y'all know I'm not dead or anything.

1) Because it's been about a million years since my last ASkars post:

My face at that pic:

2) Glee and Supernatural reaction posts are in progress, but might still be a while because I'm doing about five gazillion other things at the same time. Apologies for the wait.

3) More Bat!fic is also coming very soon. Including things that bumped its overall rating into the R/NC-17 range. Stay tuned :D

I'll also probably compile a list of big bang recs at some point soon, once I get a chance to actually read them /o\

First, the two remaining Supernatural reaction posts (apologies for lateness):

Episode 6x05 'Live Free or Twi-hard' )

Aaand more Bat!fic.

Internets, let me tell you something. Many times, I fail hardcore at being a responsible adult in some way, shape, or form. We all do, it happens to the best of us really (Google Hyperbole and a Half if you don't believe me). Because of this common human condition and my own personal whacked out brain chemistry, many simple tasks often become impossible for me very quickly.

Studying for tests is one of those things.

A brief, gif-riddled, extraordinarily random insight into what my afternoon has been like... )

And that's how my last four hours have been going (and how making myself perform important tasks frequently goes for me). I know, I know, it's riveting, as is the fact that I'm about an inch away from doing this:

1) The fact that my Applied Kinesiology professor from two semesters ago

b) Has a Black Flag tattoo on the back of his neck (and enough other tattoos that even Tunny would be impressed)
c) Is actually surprisingly attractive (he teaches Brazilian jiujitsu on the side, picture the results of that for a moment)

2) Adding to the ever-expanding mental list of Things I Cannot Say to Stark When I Meet Him

3) Movies I want to see this weekend

4) Stuff to post on here (damn it...)

5) Scenes for my Starsgard fic

6) Scenes for the Batman!AU

7) All the horribly violent things I'd like to do to the asshole from the athletic training program who sauntered over to make insincere chitchat with me

8) The fact that I was mistaken for a grad student (again) earlier today

ETA:

Dear irritating douchecanoes throwing the loud party in the courtyard just under my window,

Y'all have no idea how tempting it was for me to stick my head out the window and ask two questions:

1) How many of you are in greek organizations? (my guess: 90% of you)
2) How many of you are science majors (as in the laboratory kind)? (my guess: none of you, I know this because of the ridiculously excessive free time you have)

SHUT THE FUCK UP.

Now, I know it's pretty common for most people to get some wacky shit in their spam folders. Comedians have been joking about it pretty much since email was invented. Even I've gotten some pretty weird things including...

- Mail-order bride ads (Le Boyfriend finds this hilarious)
- Various and sundry male enhancement ads (which seemed stupid given that I'm a girl, until I realized the potential jab at Le Boyfriend -- then it was hilarious)
- Ads encouraging me to watch supposed celebrity sex tapes
- Ads for guns/knives/hunting gear (the combination of this and the one above it make me wonder what watch lists I must be on by now)

But this, internets, this cracks me up the most... )

1) I'm in my twenties.
2) I'm pretty sure Paypal knows I'm in my twenties considering I dimly remember being asked to enter my DOB when I registered.
3) I'm in college. I'm still getting the hang of financial responsibility.

Bonus: Note the link/ad across the top of my Spam folder -- Google usually chooses things for that place based on key words in the folder (or email if you happen to have one open at the time). So Google selects a Spam recipe for the spam folder; is that meta or what? XD

Just had to stop in and have a laugh about that. Feel free to join Bud in being horrified by what the internet appears to think of me:

Salutations, internets!

First, I know I said a large chunk of Batman!fic would be up soon, but overall revisions got more complicated than we were expecting (because this thing keeps expanding), so I decided to post a smaller part that's already pretty set to tide y'all over.

(Link to the fic's tag page for previous parts: here)

Title: Celer, Silens, Mortalis (Part 2)
Authors: [livejournal.com profile] emerald_skies and [livejournal.com profile] mcl4r3n
Summary: In which Brad has an idea, Nate gets a surprise, and things start to get complicated (as they are wont to do).

The plot thickens! )

Because I am totally neurotic and perfectionist when it comes to writing, many many edits will probably occur throughout the day depending on how strong the urge to nitpick gets. In the mean time? Enjoy!

Also, many thanks to everyone for their support in my Inception/Tom Hardy/sleeping-pill-induced rambling post. Please continue being awesome, internets.

Finally, because I (for once) don't have a huge looming assignment due next week, I'll actually be able to sit down and tackle a bunch of review posts over the weekend (including two Glee posts, two Supernatural posts, and the Kung Fu Hustle post). Oh God, what is my life /o\

Things I learned from watching Zorro earlier this afternoon:

- Anything and everything Antonio Banderas does is sexy. Even getting into a shouting match with Catherine Zeta-Jones.

- Catherine Zeta-Jones uses the same mix of witchcraft and virgin blood as Stark to avoid obvious signs of aging.

- Grand, sweeping, Spanish-sounding orchestral arrangements make everything better. Everything.

- Rich people are bad (unless they are Zorro).

- Americans are worse (rich Americans are, by extension, the Antichrist).

This was the second movie but, now that I think of it, those pretty much apply to all of them.

Anyway, here's the long-promised first snippet of the GK Batman!AU [livejournal.com profile] mcl4r3n and I have been cooking up:

Title: Celer, Silens, Mortalis
Author(s): [livejournal.com profile] emerald_skies and [livejournal.com profile] mcl4r3n
Pairing: Brad/Nate
Rating: PG-13 so far (for language and violence)
Summary: A Batman AU featuring Brad as Batman, Ray as Alfred (yes, you read that correctly), Walt as Robin, and many others.
Disclaimer: This is a work of fiction. No profit is being made, all non-original content is the property of its respective owners, no infringement is intended, etc.
Author’s note: Many thanks to everyone who gave feedback, helped with the little details, or just generally waved pom-poms in support of this little story that could. This story is for all of you <3

So, internets, it occurs to me that I might possibly have bitten off more than I can chew in terms of internet activity.

1) I may or may not be working on a GK Batman!AU with [livejournal.com profile] mcl4r3n. It's looking like it's going to be pretty long. Awesome, but also long.

2) I'm also still working on a comic relief scene for my Starsgard fic (my 6500-words-and-counting-and-I'm-barely-halfway-done Starsgard fic).

3) I'm also going to be doing regular Glee (and possibly Supernatural) reaction posts now.

4) I still have that Kung Fu Hustle review post to do.

Plus my to-do list from like six months ago. Not to mention not flunking college as I do all this.

Photobucket

Yeeeeeaaaahhhh...I'm either a masochist or a colossal moron. Possibly both. This should be fun!

Dear kid in my class this morning,

I realize that college is the perfect time for wild and crazy shenanigans. I also realize that I'm in no position whatsoever to judge you for stupid decisions.

However, when you show up to class so drunk that people three rows away can smell you? Not to mention rambling loudly about how drunk you are? You really shouldn't be surprised at the looks you got in response.

Sincerely,
[livejournal.com profile] emerald_skies (the red-haired girl sitting three rows behind and two seats over from you)

P.S. - Even money says I did at least thirty points better than you on the test.

Dear inconsiderate dicksucks above me,

Are you seriously at this ear-assaultingly loud bullshit again? Even after two noise complaints from us and at least one more from other people in the building?

Le Boyfriend just managed to talk me out of calling the cops on you right now. You have one day's grace period before I call them anyway, Le Boyfriend be damned. I am so fucking done with this crap.

Salutations, internets. After spending an afternoon poring over medical journals until the words started to blur, I came home determined to resolve this computer issue bullshit once and for all.
