So, internets, remember how I mentioned that Le Boyfriend and I have acquired a kitten (that my neighbors are currently petsitting)? And how I said I would post pictures? Welp, here they are!
IMPORTANT NOTE: It's pretty damn hard to get non-blurry pictures of kittens at this stage, so not all of the blurriness is entirely my fault (or, more specifically, the fault of my trembly hands)

They're so cute when they're in the "pipe cleaner!spine" stage
And now for the sequence in which I re-discover that kittens have very sharp claws and a very loose sense of the line between "playing" and "maiming"

"Awwww, what a good kitty"

"That...that kind of hurts a little. Actually it kind of hurts a lot."

"Ow, ow, please let go of my ha-- HOOKING YOUR CLAWS INTO MY LEG ISN'T OKAY EITHER."
Eventually, Sally calmed down a bit and we discovered that she, unlike my cat that lives with my family, is actually quite a lap-friendly kitty.

Peace offering for attacking my arm earlier? Or lulling me into a false sense of security? You be the judge...

There are few things in the world cuter than when a kitten shows its approval of you by melting over various extremities.

For those who don't know, paper grocery bags make outstanding cat toys

Unfortunately, so do digital camera wrist-straps....
Amazingly, unlike most cats, she turned out to be absolutely okay with Le Boyfriend (generally speaking, cats tend to be afraid of him for some reason even though he's one of the gentlest souls ever)

Contemplating attacking the (out of view) camera wrist strap again (even though it was wrapped around my wrist this time)
Aaaaaand nope, back to sleep

So that's Le Boyfriend's and my new kitty, circa 10ish weeks old (if my neighbor's estimate of her age was correct). I know my RL posts on here can be kind of dull, but hopefully the adorable bb!kitty kind of makes up for it. In terms of fandom, work is slowly (but surely) continuing on my GK/AI crossover and
mcl4r3n should be getting back from traveling soon so the vamp!fic will also (hopefully) be coming out of hiatus sometime this week. Stay tuned!
