Potentially unpopular sentiments ahoy
Oct. 29th, 2012 02:27 pmInternets, I swear by the shiny metallic savior that I'm going to rupture something if the news calls Sandy a "historic/record breaking storm" one more time.
To the best of my recollection, news outlets all over everywhere didn't freak out this badly when Ike or Rita hit the Gulf coast (with much higher winds, mind you), but it's clearly the end of American civilization as we know it when the East coast gets some 70ish mph gusts. On the bright side, maybe this will shut up whoever wrote an op ed piece I read once about how the federal government should make us poor uneducated rubes in the South move somewhere else since we keep getting expensively pasted by hurricanes. I'm not even making this shit up.
All bitterness aside, I do hope all my flisties out in Yankeeland stay safe and take some courage from someone who knows how to hurricane; y'all are gonna be just fine. If we backwater country bumpkins can make it, then so can you.
