emerald_skiesI stayed home from class yesterday to meet the cable guys (I had to since I don't have a car and Le Boyfriend needed his for student teaching). They eventually came and, after four fucking hours and some "technical difficulties" (don't even ask me to explain), what do I have to show for it?
Nothing.
Well, unless you count all the cable now bolted to my wall as something. I don't because NONE OF IT FUCKING DOES ANYTHING, but that might just be me.
So now the short and the short of it is that I STILL won't have internet at Le Flat until this coming Saturday at some point between 12:00 and 4:00 p.m. Until then, I'm stuck with phone email (read only *sigh*)/Twitter and on campus internet, plus the flickering unsecured signal that occasionally pops up from somewhere in my apartment complex.
I hate to sound whiny like this, but is it so unreasonable to wish that something would go right just once? Just to balance out all the bullshit? I know this isn't so bad in the larger scheme of things (I have a place to live, etc.), but it's making work/school/painless existence virtually impossible.
ETA: H'okay, to make up for the seriously whiny nature of this post, I watched and took notes on the Glee season premiere (on the off chance anyone is interested in my thoughts on it):
Glee 3x01
- "Optical illusion; the chair adds a year" -- HA!
- TINKER! OMG HAI TINKER! I REMEMBER YOU FROM Friday Night Lights!
...*ahem* moving on.
- Again with the slushies? And the "Glee-otch" thing? Really? On the other hand, the canon Will/Emma action TOTALLY MAKES UP FOR IT *flails*
- Also, as a previous thought, am I the only one who's wondering why New Directions placed so low when they're the only ones who really followed the whole "anthem" theme? I hardly consider Yeah! - Usher & Ludacris an anthem...just sayin'.
- Will, were you ever in high school? This purple piano thing can't end well...
- ...Is it just me, or is anyone else on the verge of getting the diabeetus from this Klaine action? Seriously, this is killing m--
HOLY SHINY METALLIC JESUS RYAN MURPHY WHAT DID YOU DO TO QUINN?!
- We Got The Beat - Good energy, technically well done, but probably not the best sales pitch in a high school environment, and thus? Pretty high secondhand embarrassment factor. On the other hand, Brittany channeling her inner Showgirls might get some attention O_o
- I don't like this whole self-diagnosed Asperger's thing the PTB have going with Sugar -- actually, it kind of offends me (as someone with professionally diagnosed AS), even though I can't exactly put my finger on why. Glee's treading on thin ice with me already, considering the offhand comment Holly made about bipolar (when she was pretending to be Mrs. Lincoln) that was way off-base, so I'm hoping this isn't the start of a trend...
(Side note: What is it with her playing the bitch character? First Stick It and now this?)
...okay, if the self-diagnosed Asperger's thing doesn't offend me, her singing seriously does. MAKE IT STOP.
- Ding-Dong! The Witch Is Dead - I didn't really get anything out of this one. It didn't suck or anything, it just wasn't that great either :\ About the only thing I can think of to say is that Lea and Chris sing pretty well together, but we already knew that from Defying Gravity so...that's all, I guess.
- ....glitter-bombed? GLITTER-BOMBED?
There are no words. Honestly, I haven't been this confused by glitter since Tony Vincent randomly threw a fistful of it for no apparent reason during AI.
- It's Not Unusual - Great energy (again), technically proficient (again), but it doesn't count unless Blaine does the Carlton dance:

- Anything Goes/Anything You Can Do - Is it just me, or does Harmony look a bit like Quinn through the face? Idek, she looks familiar for some reason. I don't really have anything else to say about the number in terms of proficiency or whatnot, because it's meant to be proficient and energetic and all-around good and shit.
Although I totally just saw Harmony steal Rachel's hand mannerism thing that she does when she belts.
I like it.

- You Can't Stop The Beat - Ahahahaha, oh show, I see what you did there with the Hairspray reference (for those who didn't know, Matt Morrison was Link Larkin in a Broadway run of it). This is my favorite number in all of Hairspray, so I have nothing but good things to say about it *g*
And it's a nice positive note to end on, too. Well played, Troll Murphy.
