Salutations, internets. A few things:

1) I beg anyone and everyone who reads this NOT to re-post anything I say on Facebook or Twitter. Some of the things I say on here could cause me great embarrassment at a minimum and possible legal trouble in some cases, and it'd just be...a bad thing. I wouldn't be able to be as weird as I want to on here anymore, y'know? I don't intend to repost anything y'all say, all I'm asking is for the same courtesy toward me.

ETA: I just came across a way to get rid of it on comments and stuff (not in the entry making section, unfortunately, but you can't have everything) courtesy of gothic_elvis:

1. Install Greasemonkey Add-on for Firefox So, yup. You gotta have Mozilla.

2. Go Here and install that program after installing Greasemonkey. It should work immediately without an internet restart needed. Mine did, so I'm just going by that.

3) Some comments on the last Hunger Games book, Mockingjay, by Suzanne Collins



- First of all, FUCK YOU SUZANNE COLLINS FOR SINKING KATNISS/GALE fheliahguiohraehgr (I have an irrational hatred of Peeta, and I don't even know why)

- I can't decide if I was surprised by the whole evil-President-Snow-not-so-evil-actually thing. It was nicely done, but seems like an obvious thing to do in hindsight. I looked back on it and thought about how much energy she put into making sure that Snow was TEH BLACKEST OF ALL EVULS, and something about it seemed like a setup for the inevitable about-face (but, then again, Coin didn't look so good right off the bat either and look how that turned out)

- PRIM! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?! TT_TT


- Something about the description of Section 13 came across as oblique references to Ender's Game and The Giver....did anyone else who actually read this get that too or have I just read so many books that they're all starting to run together?

- For all the evil the Capital was reported to be, the takeover seemed to happen rather...quickly. Maybe I'm just not figuring in the previous books here, Idk.

More may follow as I ponder and re-read. Any and all discussion is welcome in the mean time.

Aha, I thought only one person so far had commented on LJ's retardation issues with other social networking sites, but I'm happy to see multiple people have issues with it.

Oh God yes, this whole thing is making me hideously paranoid (and thankful that I'm so vague about my real life on here).

Unfortunately, I think I read somewhere that it can even re-post flocked entries in their entirety (someone tried it with a test post or something like that). I'm a little too scared to try it out for myself -_-

According to what I hear only you can decide to share a locked post of your own. HOWEVER, your friends commenting on that locked post can freely xpost their comment to FB, which will probably give away the content of your post in the first place.

I really hate that part of the update, but I'm glad someone's come up with a "fix" for it so quickly. It's just, there are certain things on websites like LJ that should stay on LJ. Whose idea was this, anyway? And I didn't need to restart my browser after the installation, either.

I don't know whose idea this was, but they better hope I never meet them in a dark alley some day. This is the one place I can be as weird as I want! I have to pretend to be at least relatively normal everywhere else ;__; Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure the fix it doesn't work for whole entries yet (just comments, I think), but it's a start.

Yeah, I angry about the Facebook connect thingy ¬¬U it's horrible, I mean this is my VIRTUAL life not RL and sadly my Facebook is part of my RL with RL friends and all :/
I just hope they take it down because I haven't found too many people really happy about this :/
And I won't repost anything on Facebook, just as I don't want anything of mine be repost on Facebook

Well, I suppose some people want to be able to repost their own stuff or whatever, which is one thing, but to have no option to turn it all off completely for yourself? So other people have most of the control over what you say? Yeah, that's not cool.

I've read enough unhappy posts about it (and comments in the actual LJ-related comms) that I'm hoping LJ will do something about it fairly soon. Unfortunately, I'm getting the impression that they don't yet understand why people don't like it ("But you have to opt into iiiiitttt (for yourself)")

Doesn't sound good 'cause it pretty much isn't. You can turn off posting stuff yourself, but other people can still post stuff you said absolutely beyond your control. It pretty much blows.
