THINGS...and stuff
Dec. 14th, 2010 02:59 pmTHING THE FIRST: I finally got my camera! After I wrestled the box open, I promptly spent the next thirty minutes annoying the bejeezus out of Le Boyfriend with scenarios like...
Me: *holds up tiny plastic whatsit* The heck is this?
Le Boyfriend: That's the battery.
Me: *holds up another tiny plastic whatsit* And this?
Le Boyfriend: That's the battery charger.
And so on. There was also much marveling over how friggin' tiny it is (seriously, it's the same approximate dimensions as a box of Altoids). Y'all might laugh at me for my confusion over the many tiny plastic whatsits -- which, incidentally, have a frightening talent for disappearing -- and the battery but, for reference, the last digital camera I had regular access to a) belonged to my family, b) was roughly the size of your standard full-size matchbox (or a smaller film camera), and c) ran on AA batteries. In other words, I AM NEW TO THE TINY CAMERAS OF THE FUTURE, OKAY?
I'm also impressed with all the software functions. It auto-corrects red-eye (I used to have to do that on my computer), has a blink detector (which is causing me no end of amusement), and can distinguish/orient faces in a given frame (it puts little blinky white corners around them). The jury's still out on whether it can slice/dice/make julien fries, but I wouldn't put it past this thing. I fully intend to spend the rest of the afternoon playing with it -- which might involve further annoying the bejeezus out of Le Boyfriend.
THING THE SECOND: I finished my finals today! Spanish was easy (God bless online classes), Stress Management was easy (see previous), Sports Nutrition was so-so (I barely studied anyway because I'm pretty sure I could've skipped it and still made a low B in the class), and Physiology of Exercise was GOOD GOD SO STUPIDLY HARD. Well, the essay wasn't so hard, but there were parts of the multiple choice that had me going like this:

Except quietly in my seat. At least I wasn't the only one writhing in anguish.
THING THE THIRD: I finally got Le Batfic posted to AO3 for ease of re-reading (and posting to
generation_kill. I was delighted to discover that it doesn't freak out at LJ formatting, but enraged at how MOTHERFUCKING SLOW it is, and then there was this whole thing where it posted an extra chapter and I couldn't figure out WHY. Much rending of garments (figuratively speaking) ensued until I finally figured out that it had somehow posted the last chapter twice.
THING THE FOURTH: I should probably get around to picking out possible dates/times for the Die Mommie Die re-watch in
stark_sands. Um.
THING THE FIFTH: Happy birthday,
muthine! I bring you eyefucking as a birthday present

THING THE LAST: The New York trip is in four days. FOUR DAYS.

Plans for a meet-up are in progress (with a million thanks to
pjvilar for helping with my hilariously awful planning skills). Incoherent flailing has already begun.
That's it for now! How are y'all?
