Man, some of the HP movies really are a crying shame because you're right, they aren't that great, but they should be because some of them were helmed by some pretty fucking awesome directors. Alas :\
Anyway, I fully concede that making adaptations is hard! Like I said somewhere further up, it's something of an inexact science because you have so many different things you have to worry about at the same time if you try one. But this? This is just insulting, this was one of the most blatant attempts to cash in on something's popularity that I think I've ever seen. I'm honestly amazed that Jim Butcher allowed them to mangle the story so badly.
On the other hand, I read The Hunger Games trilogy and I already feel like there's 50% chance of the adaptation being terrible. Idk.
Ugh, I'm right there with you. Part of me hopes the movies will be awesome, but the rest of me knows that movies aimed at the young adult demographic generally don't turn out well -_-
Would you recommend The Dresden Files? I'm always looking for new things to read!
