Internets, do any of you ever have one of those moments where recognizing someone in a movie makes you feel like a gigantic nerd?
So I was watching A Beautiful Mind (don't ask why I was doing this at about five o' clock in the morning, I have no idea) and it got toward the end, where old!John Nash is getting his Nobel Prize and making his lovely, romantic speech to Jennifer Connelly's character, and then it showed this part:

At which point I go, "Hang on..."

"I know that face..." (not Jennifer Connelly -- I would be a sad excuse for a Labyrinth fan if I didn't know her -- the one with all the helpful blue arrows pointing at him) "Why do I know that face?"
So I watched the movie some more and I saw him again:

I still couldn't place why he looked familiar, but the movie was close enough to being over that I decided to stay with it until the credits and figure this shit out once and for all. I resolved not to rest until I found out who was playing John Nash Jr. and why he looked so goddamn familiar.
Well, there's a good reason he looked familiar, internets:

Yeah. THIS Michael Esper.

It took me a while because he didn't have spiky black and blue hair, but IMDb confirms that it's him. Evidently it doesn't take much to go from "son of a genius" to "stoner couch potato". Go figure.
Okay, 'fess up, how many of you recognized him from the very first screen cap? Go on, I won't judge, I've had far too many WAY fangirlier moments than this to be able to judge without sounding like a total hypocrite.
The moral of this post? FANDOM IS EVERYWHERE, resistance is futile.
Lastly, more meme!
Day Twenty-Six: What is the oddest (or funnest) thing you've had to research for a fic?
That would be a tie between transfemoral prosthetic legs and exactly how much force it takes to crush a human windpipe (alongside how much force a mostly average adult male can generate in a punch). Both topics were being researched for the same fic, incidentally XD
And now, back to watching movies in the middle of the night because I can't make my brain shut up. Ta!

(Side note: You're back! And alive! Dare I optimistically guess that this means things are mostly better(ish) for you? I was worried after your last post before you left for a while but I didn't want to nag...)

I guess I'm watching A Beautiful Mind again in detail. OH MY GOD ESPER WHAT ARE YOU DOING THERE. I kinda saw it in your first cap but he looks so different! WHERE IS YOUR PUNK HAIR.
You were absolutely right, I got a real kick out of this! &you; for dedicating this post to me.

WHERE IS YOUR PUNK HAIR.
EXACTLY. I've pretty much decided he needs to keep the spiky blue/black hair forever.
